Dithizone, or Diphenylthiocarbazone, comes in the form of a black to purple-black powder. As one of the more sensitive analytical reagents, it is primarily used for the identification of trace metals and in complexometric titrations. Dithizone is poorly soluble in water; however, it is soluble in chloroform, benzene and ethanol. Along the line of ChemieR Organic Reagents, Dithizone, ACS Grade, is distributed by Dawn Scientific. Our Dithizone, ACS Grade, offers extraordinary purity, reproducibility, and dependable output for sensitive laboratory and research endeavours.
Applications of Dithizone ACS Grade
Dithizone is used as a chelating agent for zinc.
It is highly employed for the liquid-liquid and solid phase extractions of different metals as it complexes with the metals.
Dithizone is used for cloud point preconcentration, for the detection of trace levels of silver through flame atomic absorption spectrometry, using the cloud point preconcentration step.
