Functional Application (blocks immune complex binding, as does the F(ab’)2 fragment). The F(ab’)2 fragment blocks non-antigen-specific binding of immunoglobulins to the FcγIII and FcγII receptors in vitro. It is therefore a useful tool to reduce strong background staining of Fc-containing MAbs in FC and IHC. Also useful when recombinant Fc:fusion proteins are employed as detection tools for the detection of the cognate ligands.
