The monoclonal antibody recognises the functional groups at C-11 and C-21 in the steroid portion of 11-deoxycortisol, and can be useful in determining plasma levels of deoxycortisol in the metyrapone test in the diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome and adrenal insufficiency. |
