| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2a format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for CD44 (gp90 epitope cluster III). Hermes-3 recognizes Hermes antigen homologues on monkey, goat, and sheep lymphocytes. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody has been used in IF, IHC (immunoperoxidase method), cross-blocking and WB studies to characterise the Hermes-defined antigens (Picker, 1989). This antibody is able to block lymphocyte binding to mucosal HEV, without affecting binding to HEV in peripheral lymph nodes and synovium (Jalkanen, 1987). H3-51 is cross-blocked by this antibody, indicating that the epitopes recognized by these two antibodies overlap (Picker, 1989). |
