Chimeric Use Statement: This reformatted mouse antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement: This antibody recognises RAD51 (and might also recognise hDmc1 (Masson et al., 1999)). RAD51 is a eukaryotic homologue of E. coli RecA. It is an important part of the homologous recombination DNA repair pathway during the homologous strand exchange stage.
Application Notes: WB: Anti-Rad51 3C10 antibody was used to visualise Rad51 via Western blot after previous immunoprecipitation with different antibodies in experiments analysing the interactions between Rad51 and DMC1 (Masson et al., 1999). IF: 3C10 antibody was used to visualise Rad51 on chromatin in endopolyploid tumour cells in experiments investigating the role of another protein - REC8 in chromosome segregation after radiation (Erenpreisa et al., 2009). IHC: This antibody was also used to immunohistochemically stain biopsy and resected specimens of esophagus and squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus (Nakanoko et al., 2014).
