| Chimeric Use Statement: | This reformatted mouse antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | Thi antibody recognises haloperidol which is one of the major antipsychotic drugs. It is a D2 dopamine receptor antagonist and is widely used in treatment of schizophrenia, psychoses and mania. This antibody binds to the p-chlorophenyl ring (ring 2) of haloperidol and prefers an extended conformer of the drug molecule. |
| Application Notes: | RIA: radioligand binding assays were performed to asses binding affinity of the anti-haloperidol D antibody (Kd=4.4 nM). This antibody possesses a binding site which is highly sensitive to the electron-withdrawing characteristics of the substituents on ring 2 (Sherman et al., 1986). |
