| Application Notes: | 585 can be used for the identification of Ki-67. Ki-67 protein is present during all active phases of the cell cycle (G(1), S, G(2), and mitosis), but is absent from resting cells (G(0)), what makes it an excellent marker for determining the so-called growth fraction of a given cell population (Scholzen and Gerdes, 2000; pmid: 10653597). Detection of Ki-67 is also widely used as an important marker of certain conditions, such as breast cancer (Inwald et al., 2013; pmid: 23674192). |
