| Application Notes: | I8/1 antibody can be used for the identification of the complement factor D from human serum and plasma. For instance, this antibody was utilized in the quantitation of the factor D levels in blood of patients with renal failure via a senstive ELISA procedure (Oppermann et al., 1991). It is particularly useful as factor D plasma levels positively correlate with plasma creatinine and the creatinine clearance in patients with chronic renal failure (Volanakis et al., 1985; Grubb et al., 1985). |
