| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2b format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody recognizes and binds the extracellular epitope of NKG2D and blocks the interaction between ligand and receptor. |
| Application Notes: | The NKG2D (Natural Killer Group 2 Member D) protein is an activating receptor that enables NK and CD8 + T cells to recognize and eliminate infected or transformed endogenous cells. However, an incorrect regulation of this receptor on immune cells also appears to lead to the development of autoimmune diseases such as type I diabetes, celiac disease and RA.This antibody positively reacts with NKG2D on CD8-positive T cells and to CD56-positive natural killer cells. The binding was confirmed FACS analysis (Steigerwald, 2008). |
