| Specificity Statement: | This antibody binds canine lymphoma cells. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody is recommended for detection of canine lymphoma cells. The binding ability of the hybridoma supernatents with canine lymphoma cells was determined by radioimmunoassay. FACS analysis was used to analyse the binding of the antibody to cells freshly isolated from canine lymphomatous nodes and normal lymphocytes of canine and human blood (Steplewski et al., 1987). This antibody has been shown to exhibit antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity as well as complement-dependant cytolysis (Rosales et al., 1988). Canine lymphoma is conventionally treated with chemotherapy, but it was found that subsequent treatment with a specific monoclonal antibody, Mab 231, raised against the lymphoma, substantially prolonged remission and survival times (Jeglum, 1989). |
