Chimeric Use Statement: This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for GABA-A-R-Alpha5. It does not cross-react with GABA-A-R-Alpha2. GABA-A-R-Alpha5 is a ligand-gated chloride channel subunit which is a component of the heteropentameric receptor for GABA, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. May be involved in GABA-A receptor assembly, and GABA-A receptor immobilization and accumulation by gephyrin at the synapsee.
Application Notes: This antibody was used for a western blot on mouse cell lysates (Davenport et al, 2020; PMID:33096025). Western blot was preformed on mouse hippocampal protein samples with this antibody (Gruol et al, 2018; PMID:29787738). Lysates from L3 to L5 DRG and the ipsilateral dorsal section of rats were used for western blot with this antibody (Franco-Enzástiga et al, 2020; PMID:32750173). Western blot was preformed on human brain, and on KO mouse brain with this antibody (Gong et al, 2016; PMID:26644354).
