| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for the shank3. It shows no cross-reactivity against Shank1 or Shank2. Shank3 is a major scaffold postsynaptic density protein which interacts with multiple proteins and complexes to orchestrate the dendritic spine and synapsee formation, maturation and maintenance. Interconnects receptors of the postsynaptic membrane including NMDA-type and metabotropic glutamate receptors via complexes with GKAP/PSD-95 and HOMER, respectively, and the actin-based cytoskeleton. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody was used for immunoblotting on hemibrains of wild-type, heterozygous and homozygous Shank3 mice (Bozdagi et al, 2010; PMID:21167025). hemibrains of wild-type, heterozygous and homozygous Shank3 rats were used for immunoblotting with this antibody (Harony-Nicolas et al, 2017; PMID:28139198). Half brains of mice were immunoblotted with this antibody (Kolevzon et al, 2010; PMID:21062623). Western blotting was preformed with this antibody on mouse tissue (Nikoletopoulou et al, 2017; PMID:28683289). |
