| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric rat antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2a format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for Kir2.2. It shows no cross-reactivity against Kir2.1 or Kir2.3. Kir2.2 is an inward rectifying potassium channel that is activated by phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and that probably participates in controlling the resting membrane potential in electrically excitable cells. Probably participates in establishing action potential waveform and excitability of neuronal and muscle tissues. |
| Application Notes: | FDB and IO muscles of mice were immunoblotted with this antibody (DiFranco et al, 2015; PMID:25545278). |
