| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for the 17b-hydroxy group of estradiol. It is reported to show stronger recognition of the D-ring than of the A-ring extremity of the steroid, but a similar lack of specificity for both 6- and 7-positions of the B-ring. Estradiol is an estrogen steroid hormone and the major female sex hormone. It is involved in the regulation of the estrous and menstrual female reproductive cycles. |
