| Application Notes: | The original human IgG2 version of this antibody binds parathyroid hormone-related protein with a binding affinity of 0.11 nM. The binding characterization of the human IgG2 version of this antibody towards PTHrP was done using ELISA. Excess PTHrP production causes hypercalcemia, such as tumor-dependent hypercalcemia often caused by PTHrP secreted by tumor cells in large amounts. This human anti-human PTHrP antibody has had a significant suppressive and therapeutic effect on PTHrP-induced hypercalcemia in a malignant hypercalcemia associated with tumor (MAH) model mice (JP2000080100). |
