Chimeric Use Statement:This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement:The antibody binds CA125 (mucin 16). CA125 is a glycoprotein from the mucin family and is an important tumor marker or biomarker that may be elevated in the blood of some patients with specific types of cancers, or other conditions that are benign.
Application Notes:This recombinant antibody is derived from the parent mouse IgG1 antibody VK-8. The original mouse IgG1 antibody, VK-8, was used in the radioimmunoprecipitation of antigens from [3H]GlcN-labeled OVCAR-3 cells. Inhibition and indirect ELISA was used to test the effect of various enzymic and chemical treatments on binding of the IgG1 version of this antibody towards CA125. This antibody was also used in the identification of CA125 antigen in a western blot assay (PMID: 9180155). This antibody was used for the immunofluorescent staining of SW626/B53 cells (PMID: 11920644). This antibody has also been reported to be used in the affinity purification CA 125 antigen (PMID: 9180155; 11369781). This antibody was used detect sMUC16 in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells isolated from healthy pregnant women and preeclampsia patients at the time of delivery using flow cytometry (PMID: 22380506). This antibody can also be used for the immunohistochemical analysis on sections of corneal and conjunctival epithelia (PMID: 12766047).
