| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for CD11a. CD11a is a receptor for ICAM1, ICAM2, ICAM3, ICAM4, F11R, and the secreted form of ubiquitin-like protein ISG15. CD11a is involved in a variety of immune phenomena including leukocyte-endothelial cell interaction, cytotoxic T-cell mediated killing, and antibody dependent killing by granulocytes and monocytes. It contributes to natural killer cell cytotoxicity. |
| Application Notes: | To show that the enhanced adhesiveness of CD4+ T cells is induced by CD3 cross-linking, an adhesion assay was performed on human PMBCs using the mouse version of this antibody (Mazerolles et al, 1991; pmid:1826886). An adhesion assay was performed on human T and B cells in the presence of the mouse version of this antibody to study the kinetics of T-cell adhesion (Mazerolles et al, 1991; pmid:1679053). |
