Chimeric Use Statement:This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement:This antibody is specific for human CD95. CD95 is a protein that has an important role in the apoptosis of cells. Due to this property is can play a role in cancer.
Application Notes:To determine the involvement of caspases in apoptosis induced by CD20, a western blot was performed using the mouse version on this antibody on Daudi and Raji cells treated with anti-CD20. Furthermore, the effect of this antibody on mitochondrial permeability was determined. An increase in permeability was indeed observed after treatment with this antibody (Chan et al, 2003; pmid:14500384). Cytospin preparations from MOLT-4 and Jurkat T-cells were stained for immunofluorescence using the mouse version of this antibody to study whether gal-1 interferes with the Fas-associated apoptosis cascade in the T-cell line (Brandt et al, 2008; pmid:18288482). To study whether the expression of the proapoptotic Fas/FasL in the implantation site in impaired during abortion, placental tissue from woman with either voluntary or involuntary abortion was stained for immunohistochemistry using the mouse version of this antibody (Minas et al, 2007; pmid:17704118).
