| Chimeric Use Statement: | This reformatted human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Human IgM format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody can recognize antigens expressed on the cell surface of human ovarian, cervix, breast, colon, melanoma and other carcinomas. This antibody does not react with normal human tissues. The epitope recognized by this antibody is different from the one recognized by another similar antibody AC6C3. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody reacted with lysates of the SW756 cervical carcinoma line in western blotting assay. Cell surface immunofluorescence determinations using the fluorescence activated cell sorter revealed that this antibody stain ovarian or cervix carcinoma tumor cell lines (PMID: 7756578). Intralesional administration of indium-111 (111In) or yttrium-90 (90Y) labelled IgM antibody in mice with subcutaneous human head and neck squamous cell carcinoma nodules resulted in prolonged high tumor radioactivity with little normal tissue uptake, with kidney and liver having the highest values (PMID: 9380829). Intralesional administration of 90Y-labeled IgM in nude mice bearing subcutaneous human head and neck squamous cell carcinoma xenografts can ablate tumors with modest acute or late toxicity (PMID: 15068610). |
