| Specificity Statement: | This antibody binds human alpha-fetoprotein (AFP). AFP is made in the liver of developing babies. It binds copper, nickel, and fatty acids as well as, and bilirubin less well than, serum albumin. AFP levels in healthy adults is very low. Elevated levels of AFP in adult human blood is a marker for cancer. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody can be used in combination with another anti-alpha fetoprotein antibody AB2 for detection of human AFP using sandwich ELISA. AB3 is used as the capture antibody and HRP labelled AB2 is used as detection antibody. This antibody was also used for the immunofluorescent staining of HepG2 hepatoma cells and immunohistochemical analysis of human liver cancer tissue (CN107022029). |
