| Specificity Statement: | This antibody binds the envelop glycoprotein (GP) of the Hantaan virus (HTNV). Hantaan virus (HTNV) is the type of Hantavirus which are rodent-borne RNA viruses that belong to the Bunyaviridae family and can cause Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS), more commonly found in the Old World, and Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), present mostly in the American continent. HPS is transmitted to humans by inhalation of virus-contaminated aerosols from rodent excreta. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody can bind Hantaan virus (HNTV) GP in an ELISA. The binding of this antibody HTNV GP expressed on the cell membrane was determined using flow cytometry. This antibody can also recognize HNTV GP in a western blot. It was also reported that this antibody can be internalized into the cytoplasm of HTNV infected Vero E6 cells. This internalization was studied with the use of immunofluorescence staining (PMID: 20012277). |
