| Application Notes: | This antibody was capable of detecting VP28 protein of WSSV in a western blot. Immuno-electron microscopy further showed that the epitope of this antibody is located on the viral envelope protein. In vitro neutralization studies in shrimp primary lymphoid cell culture showed diminished infectivity. In vivo neutralization assay showed 80% survival in shrimps injected with WSSV at a dilution of 1 × 10−3 pre-incubated with purified immunoglobulin (IgG) version of MAb 216. At higher virus concentration this antibody was not able to neutralize the virus (K.D.T. Natividad et al., 2007). |
