VEEV is a mosquito-borne viral pathogen that causes Venezuelan equine encephalitis or encephalomyelitis (VEE). VEE is a disease endemic in regions of Central and South America that causes sporadic outbreaks of equine and human encephalitis. VEEV can affect equine species, such as horses, donkeys, and zebras. |
| Application Notes: | The binding characterization of this antibody towards Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis virus strain TC-83 was done using ELISA (PMID: 6178209). This antibody was also used for an indirect immunofluorescence assay for the detection of VEEV in virus-infected Vero cells (PMID: 2037683). |
