Vector Labs Ab03912-23.0 Anti-Vimentin [MO82], Rabbit IgG, kappa (100 μg)
Quick Overview
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BDF1 mice with keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) coupled PV82 — a synthesized vimentin peptide containing the ser82 phosphorylation — (PV82-KLH) emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant.

| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody specifically recognizes vimentin phosphorylation at Ser82, a CAM kinase II phosphorylation site. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody is specific to the CAM kinase II phosphorylated vimentin Ser82 residue, as determined by ELISA, can detect the activity of endogenous CAM kinase II astrocytes, as detected by WB, and was used for ICC (IF) to detect CAM kinase II phosphorylated vimentin Ser82 in type 1 astrocytes extracted from newborn rats' cerebral cortices. IEM observation confirmed that the epitope of MO82 was localized along the vimentin filaments (Ogawara et al., 1995; PMID: 7490282). This antibody was used for: in vivo vimentin kinase activity visualization of vimentin kinase activity in cell signaling or mitosis (Goto et al., 1998; PMID: 9565595) and as a positive control in a WB for vimentin ser82 phosphorylation and in IF staining of U251 human glioma cells (Yamaguchi et al., 2005; PMID: 16260496). |
