| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for the C-terminus of MUC-5AC. |
| Application Notes: | The original version of this antibody was used for a western blot on different recombinant versions of the MUC-5AC protein (Lidell et al., 2008; PMID:18167142), on mucin proteins obtained from whole human stomachs (Mall et al., 1999; PMID:10343135), and on mucin proteins (Bara et al., 1988; PMID:2460087). This antibody was also used to stain MUC5AC in immunofluorescence on COS-7 cells transfected with pSecTag2 carrying fragments of the 59 end cDNA of MUC5AC (Nollet et al., 2004; PMID:15165482), and on BxPC-3, HT-29, LS174T, MCF-7, Calu-3 and Capan-1 cells (Liu et al., 2015; PMID:25595893). Furthermore this antibody was also used for immunoradiometric staining on fractions obtained during protein purification (Bara et al., 1991; PMID:1988372), and on a colon mucin -preparation of an 0 Le(a-b-) patient (Bara et al., 1988; PMID:2460087). Additionally this antibody was used for an ELISA on a M1 antigen preparation. And finally, this antibody was used for immunohistochemistry to stain the M1 antigen in fetal colonic mucosae (Bara et al., 1986; PMID:3524800). |
