Specificity Statement:This antibody is specififc for the wings of the A domain on E2 of CHIKV.
Application Notes:The structure of the original version of this antibody was determined using cryo-EM. Further the original version of this antibody was used for a neutralization assay on CHIKV and Vero cells (Sun et al., 2013; PMID:23577234) (Pal et al., 2013; PMID:23637602) (Pal et al., 2014; PMID:24829346). The original version of this antibody was used for a prophylaxis study on immunodeficient Ifnar−/− C57BL/6 mice, which were infected with CHIKV (Pal et al., 2013; PMID:23637602) (Pal et al., 2014; PMID:24829346). This antibody was used for an ELISA on diffent CHIKV virions (Pal et al., 2013; PMID:23637602). The ability of this antibody to reduce viral infection in rhesus macaques was assesed. It showed that it was indeed able to reduce the viral load in these animals (Pal et al., 2014; PMID:24829346). This antibody has shown its ability to block access to CHKV virions and to block the E2 surface glycoprotein from enzymatic cleavage by trypsin (Blijleven et al., 2022; PMID:35215863).
