| Chimeric Use Statement: | This reformatted mouse antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse Fab format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for the immune-dominant antigenic site within VP1 comprising the BC, DE, EF, and HI loops of Coxsackievirus A6. It does not show the same reactivity in other Coxsackievirus variants. |
| Application Notes: | The original antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on Coxsackievirus A6 infected mice. Further this antibody was used for an in vivo neutralization assay on BALB/c mice. The BALB/c mice were passively immunized with this antibody before being infected with Coxsackievirus A6. This significantly increased survival rates. This antibody was also used for a neutralization assay where the mouse was first infected with Coxsackievirus A6 before injecting this antibody. This also increased survival rates (Yang et al., 2016; PMID:27582066). This antibody was used for an in vitro neutralization assay, the binding of Coxsackievirus A6 to RD cells was tested and showed a decrease compared to the control. This antibody was used for an ELISA on Coxsackievirus A6 particles. The structure of this antibody was determined using Cryo-EM (Xu et al., 2017; PMID:28894095). |
