| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse Fab format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody is specific for DIII C-C′ loop of Envelope protein E of Dengue virus type 2 |
| Application Notes: | The original antibody was used for a plaque reduction assay on DENV-2 (Zhang et al., 2015; PMID:25355881, Sukupolvi-Petty et al., 2010; PMID:20592088). The Fab was incubated with DENV-2 and then added to BHK21 cells. The structure of the original antibody was determined using cryo-EM (Zhang et al., 2015; PMID:25355881). The original version of this antibody was used for flow cytometry on DENV infected cells. This antibody was used for an in vivo protection assay on BALB/c mice. Here the mice were given the antibody after infection with the DENV-2. It showed improvement over control (Sukupolvi-Petty et al., 2010; PMID:20592088). This antibody was used for an ELISA on immature virus particles. This antibody was able to promote infectivity of DENV-2. In short it made normally uninfectious immature virus infectious (da Silva Voorham et al., 2012; PMID:22431958). |
