| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody shows reactivity with anhydrous amoxicillin and other penicillin drugs like oxacillin sodium salt monohydrate (OXC), carbencillin disodium salt (CBC), penicillin G potassium salt (PCG), sulbenicillin (SBC), nafcillin sodium salt monohydrate (NFC), cloxacillin sodium salt monohydrate (CLC), penicillin V potassium salt (PCV), methicillin (MTC), APCampicillin trihydrate sodium salt (APC) and dicloxacillin sodium salt monohydrate (DCLC). Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia, and infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin, or urinary tract. |
| Application Notes: | The ability of this antibody to bind amoxicillin and other penicillin drugs was determined by ELISA. This antibody shows reactivity with amoxicillin and 10 other penicillin drugs having a common core structure (6-aminopenicilanic acid, APA) and different light chains. The antibody recognized 11 penicillin drugs with an IC50 between 8.5–54.1 ng/mL (PMID: 27383141). |
