Specificity Statement: This antibody binds the severe fever and thrombocytopenic syndrome virus glycoprotein C and does not show cross reactivity against Rift Valley Fever Virus (RVFV) Gc. Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease caused by the SFTS virus which is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick. Most patients have symptoms such as fever, low platelet count and leukopenia, and may also have symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain, lymphatic enlargement, and bleeding. Recently, first case of human-to-human transmission of SFTS virus was reported in Japan.
Application Notes: This antibody is capable of binding the ectodomain region in glycoprotein C of human severe fever and thrombocytopenia virus in an ELISA. The affinity of the fab version of this antibody towards ectodomain was determined to be in the range of Kd= 89nM. This antibody does not have any neutralizing activity against SFTSV (KR1020230076376).
