| Specificity Statement: | This antibody binds the severe fever and thrombocytopenic syndrome virus glycoprotein N. This antibody can recognize QD02, WCH97 and HBMC5 strains of SFTSV and also cross reacts with Guertu virus. Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease caused by the SFTS virus which is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick. Most patients have symptoms such as fever, low platelet count and leukopenia, and may also have symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain, lymphatic enlargement, and bleeding. Recently, first case of human-to-human transmission of SFTS virus was reported in Japan. |
| Application Notes: | The binding of this antibody to SFTSV glycoprotein Gn was confirmed using ELISA. In vitro this antibody was capable of neutralizing both pseudo virus and true virus infections of QD02 and WCH97 strains of SFTSV. This antibody showed a high neutralizing activity in vitro with an IC50 of 3ng/mL for QD02 strain and 20ng/mL for WCH97 strain. This antibody also has neutralizing activity against Guertu virus with an IC50 of 34μg/mL. In vivo, this antibody was capable of providing protection to mice infected with SFTSV HBMC5 strain. The survival rate of infected mice was found to be 100% when injected with 400 μg (CN117964747). |
