Specificity Statement: This antibody binds 25-hydroxyvitamin D. Vitamin D (calciferol) is an essential fat-soluble vitamin responsible for absorption and regulation of calcium and phosphorus, maintaining bone health, regulating immune function, preventing cardiovascular disease, and regulating fat and energy metabolism. It is important for the typical growth and development of bones and teeth and for improving resistance to certain diseases. Deficiency of vitamin may lead to osteoporosis or rickets.
Application Notes: This antibody binds 25-hydroxyvitamin D in an ELISA with an EC50 of 9.01 ng/mL and the IgG version of the antibody as a binding affinity in the sub-picomolar range. This antibody in combination with AbAb2-VD can be used in the development of double-antibody sandwich colloidal gold immunochromatography test strips, where this antibody is used to prepare Au-antibody complex and AbAb2-VD is used for T line coating.
