| Specificity Statement: | This antibody binds human IL-4. Interleukin-4 is a cytokine secreted primarily by mast cells, T-cells, eosinophils, and basophils that plays a role in regulating antibody production, hematopoiesis and inflammation, and the development of effector T-cell responses. It induces differentiation of naive helper T cells (Th0 cells) to Th2 cells. It also induces expression of class II MHC molecules on resting B-cells and enhances both secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody can be used for detection of IL-4 using ELISA. A combination of AbAbS1-IL4 and AbAbS2-IL4 was used for the detection of IL-4 in a sandwich assay, where AbAbS1-IL4 was used as a coating antibody and AbAbS2-IL4 was used as detection antibody. This combination was also used in the generation of a cytometric bead array (CBA) kit for detection of IL-4. The sensitivity of detection for this antibody pair for the CBA kit was reported to be less than 0.5pg/mL (CN118388645). |
