| Chimeric Use Statement: | This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. |
| Specificity Statement: | This antibody binds human interleukin-8. Interleukin-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus. |
| Application Notes: | This antibody can be used for detection of IL-8 using ELISA. A combination of AbAbS1-IL8 and AbAbS2-IL8 was used for the detection of IL-8 in a sandwich assay, where AbAbS1-IL8 was used as a coating antibody and AbAbS2-IL8 was used as detection antibody. This combination was also used in the generation of a cytometric bead array (CBA) kit for detection of IL-8. The sensitivity of detection for this antibody pair for the CBA kit was reported to be less than 0.1pg/mL (CN118598996). |
