| Specificity Statement: | The antibody is specific for mouse CD16. CD16 is a cluster of differentiation molecule found on the surface of natural killer cells, neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and certain T cells. It is a receptor for the Fc region of complexed immunoglobulins gamma. |
| Application Notes: | The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis. The binding affinity of the antibody to CD16 was measured by surface plasmon resonance (Kd= 0.25 nmol). The F(ab')2 fragment was used for detection of CD16 expressed on monocytes, neutrophils, and NK cells cells by flow cytometry; the IgG2b format of the antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on mouse spleen and liver. Importantly, the antibody did not give staining of the spleen or liver from mFcgR-/- mice (Tutt et al., 2015; PMID: 26512139). |
