Chimeric Use Statement:This is a reformatted human IgG1 Fc Silent Fc Silent™ antibody, based on the original human IgG1 format, created for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement:This antibody specifically recognizes human NMDAR1, an ion channel protein located on the postsynaptic membrane of nerve cells. NMDAR1 is a key subunit of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors, which are heterotetrameric, ligand-gated cation channels characterized by high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent Mg²⁺ block. NMDA receptors play a central role in synaptic plasticity, contributing to long-term potentiation (LTP) underlying learning and memory. The NMDAR1 subunit (GluN1) is also the primary target of autoantibodies in anti-NMDAR encephalitis, making it an important diagnostic biomarker.
Application Notes:This antibody was reported to be used for the detection of recombinant human NMDAR1 using ELISA. This antibody was also used for the indirect immunofluorescence staining of serum and cerebrospinal fluid samples of NMDAR1-positive patients (CN118878687).
