Vector Labs Ab05100-23.0 Anti-uPAR [3C6 ], Rabbit IgG, lambda (100 μg)

Quick Overview
The original antibody was isolated from a fully human naïve Fab phage display library constructed from the conversion of peripheral blood lymphocyte RNA into cDNA. The particular antibody clone was isolated by panning the library against human soluble uPAR that was immobilized to a Nunc Maxisorp™.

Chimeric Use Statement:This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Human IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement:This antibody binds human urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). It does not cross react with mouse or cynomolgus monkey uPAR. Human uPAR plays a role in localizing and promoting plasmin formation. Mediates the proteolysis-independent signal transduction activation effects of U-PA. Upregulation of uPAR expression at the cell surface, and plasminogen activation, has been linked to a number of conditions including inflammation, wound repair, arthritis, atherosclerosis angiogenesis, tumor invasion and metastasis.
Application Notes:The binding affinity of the IgG antibody towards human uPAR was reported to be Kd= 230 pM (PMID: 23400595).This antibody binds cell surface uPAR and abrogates uPAR association with α5β1 and α3β1 integrin. In a cell adhesion assay this antibody was found to facilitate a decrease in fibronectin- or vitronectin-dependent cell adhesion.
